Law

The Law, and how to find it

What this website does...

Mortgage law, practice and procedure is complicated and like most other areas of the law, it is constantly changing. This website provides limited, summary information for reference only on some of the main topics, together with monthly updates on caselaw and other developments.

Click on the sub-pages under the Law tab to find a list of pages. These are set out in logical order and the contents are written in an easy to follow format, with hyperlinks to publicly available sources of law and other relevant information. We may alter the pages from time to time but their accuracy cannot be guaranteed.

This year's monthly updates and previous years' archives include downloadable pdf files containing full casenotes. There are forms to subscribe for free.

...and what it does not do

This website is not a substitute for taking legal advice, and if you have a legal problem please do not e-mail us with your enquiry.

We cannot undertake a duty of care to advise on individual legal problems and always recommend that you consult a solicitor or advice agency in the first place.

If, notwithstanding this, you still need to obtain formal legal advice, either via your solicitor or directly under the Bar Council's Direct Public Access Scheme,  please contact Nigel Clayton's Clerks at  Kings Chambers. Details are on the Contact page.
